There once was a ferry from Venice to Split (it ended several years ago), and before the War (early 1990s) I believe there was a ferry from Dubrovnik to Corfu or Igoumenitsou in Greece. But for too long the only Italy ferries to Croatia were from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.croatiatraveller.com\/ferries\/Italy-IstriaSchedule.htm\">Venice or Trieste to Istria<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.croatiatraveller.com\/ferries\/Bari-schedule.htm\">Bari to Dubrovnik<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.croatiatraveller.com\/ferries\/AnconaSplit.htm\">Ancona to Split<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.croatiatraveller.com\/ferries\/AnconaZadar.htm\">Ancona to Zadar <\/a>and sporadically scheduled summer ferries from a few other Italian ports.<\/p><div id=\"croat-2592266912\" class=\"croat-content croat-entity-placement\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-4787844071747328\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4787844071747328\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"7926307719\" \ndata-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins>\n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p>Now it seems as though Mediterranean tourism officials are getting their act together to launch a <strong>new ferry route from Venice to Dubrovnik to the Greek ports of Corfu and Igoumenitsou<\/strong>. Talks are very preliminary, mind you but just last week Dubrovnik&#8217;s mayor met with a major Croatian Travel industry official to set up just such a route.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We shall try to make an arrangement with the Greek company as soon as possible, and we will prepare a Letter of Intent that we will jointly finalize with the Greeks by the middle of January next year&#8221; said Mayor Andro Vlahu\u00c5\u00a1i\u00c4\u2021 (as reported by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tzdubrovnik.hr\/english\/news.php?id=3010\">Dubrovnik Tourist Board<\/a>).<\/p><div id=\"croat-3541215177\" class=\"croat-content_2 croat-entity-placement\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-4787844071747328\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4787844071747328\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"7926307719\" \ndata-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins>\n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p>That sounds <em>very <\/em>promising.
