Then, with the dawning of the new millennium it seemed ready for an upgrade. And so it was done. Now there&#8217;s the four-star <strong>Hotel Neptun<\/strong> and the five-star <strong>Hotel Ariston, Importanne Suites<\/strong> and <strong>Villa Elita<\/strong>, all part of the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.importanneresort.com\" target=\"_blank\"> Importanne Resort.<\/a><\/p><div id=\"croat-105023106\" class=\"croat-content croat-entity-placement\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-4787844071747328\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4787844071747328\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"7926307719\" \ndata-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins>\n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p>A recent stay in the\u00c2\u00a0 <strong>Importanne Suites <\/strong>revealed accommodation ready to take a top spot on the global luxury hotel scene. These spacious suites are lodged in their own building, discreetly bordered by stone walkways and Mediterranean greenery. As the resort reception area is in Hotel Neptun, walking into the Importanne suites is like entering a private home with plush rugs and comfortable sofas. It was thoughtful to place a row of umbrellas downstairs just in case the weather turned.<\/p>\n<p>The suites are composed of two rooms: a bedroom and a living room with a small kitchenette area should you want to prepare champagne and canapes. The decor was soothing but cheerfully modern. Each room had its own bathroom which would be convenient both for couples and for those entertaining business guests. I liked that there was free internet access; so many hotels charge for it. Plus there was a flat-screen TV and telephone in each room&#8211;again perfect for those combining business and pleasure.<\/p><div id=\"croat-1273238865\" class=\"croat-content_2 croat-entity-placement\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-4787844071747328\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4787844071747328\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"7926307719\" \ndata-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins>\n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p>Perhaps the best part was the immense balcony facing south. The view over the Adriatic was unforgettable, particularly with the sun setting on the right.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_394\" style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-394\" class=\"size-full wp-image-394\" title=\"Sunet\" src=\"http:\/\/croatiatraveller.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/sunse.jpg\" alt=\"Sunset from the Importanne Suites\" width=\"400\" height=\"244\" srcset=\"https:\/\/croatiatraveller.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/sunse.jpg 400w, https:\/\/croatiatraveller.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/sunse-300x183.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-394\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sunset from the Importanne Suites<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The breakfast buffet (shared with the Importanne Resort) was copious and delicious with freshly-baked pastries, meat, eggs, cheese and lots of fresh fruit. Afterwards, there&#8217;s lolling by the swimming pool, plunging into the Adriatic, taking a peaceful seaside stroll to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.croatiatraveller.com\/southern_dalmatia\/Dubrovnik\/Hotels\/Lapad.htm\">Lapad<\/a> or hopping on a bus for a quick ride to the Old Town.
