Northern Adriatic trip

May 5th 2006 03:06 am

I recently returned from a wonderful visit to Croatia. I started in Zagreb and rented a car for the rest of the trip. Getting around Croatia by car is efficient, especially in the off-season when traffic isn’t too bad. Otherwise, I usually like to get around by bus.. I find it more relaxing. I have noticed however, that local bus services have dropped off the last few years. Only rarely have I ever taken a local train. Once to Osijek I think. I haven’t tried the new high-speed link from Zagreb to Split. Normally I wouldn’t take a flight from Zagreb to Split or Pula but I have taken the Zagreb-Dubrovnik flight often enough.
