The long-awaited restoration of the HotelLav is finally complete and the hotel Le Meridien Lav is open for business. It’s thoroughly five star and no expense has been spared to make it the premier hotel in Split. Eight restaurants and bars,, 800m of beachfront, a watersports centre, spa & wellness centre, rock climbing, tennis, archery: there’s nothing you can think of that hasn’t been included on the premises. It is simply gorgeous. The opening rates are also stunningly low. Book the Meridien Lav now or see more options for Split hotels.
Need a dentist? Come to Croatia
By Marko Kovac In Zagreb, Croatia
Dentistry in Croatia is much cheaper than in the UK. Croatia has decided to take an unconventional approach to tourism – with dentists taking a starring role.

Croatia has produced a pretty good female skier in Janica Kostelic who won a record number of gold medals in the 2002 Olympics. All well and good but I really don’t see how busy and beautiful Dubrovnik is going to cope with the increase in visitors. They have plenty! Friends of mine just returned from a November jaunt to Dubrovnik. Naturally they were wowed but still found that it was hardly empty of tourists. Split is another matter, of course. People tend not to stay long in Split plus it’s much, much bigger.
