Flights to Zadar

     Croatia Airlines connects Zadar with Zagreb daily and flies from Prague to Zadar twice weekly (Tuesday & Saturday) starting June 7. Prices are unbelievably low.

Ferries to Zadar

Buses to Zadar

     There are frequent buses from Zadar to Rijeka (4 1/2 hours), Split (3 hours) Dubrovnik (6 1/2 hours; see the schedule at buses from Dubrovnik) and Zagreb (4 to 5 hours). Trains to Zadar

    There are four daily trains from Zagreb to Zadar that go on to Sibenik and Split. There are two high-speed trains daily from Zagreb to Zadar that take less than seven hours with a change at Knin. See the schedule.

Driving to Zadar

     A long-awaited motorway connecting Zagreb and Zadar has shortened travel time between the two cities to a mere 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Someday pretty soon (say 2008) that motorway will run as far south as Dubrovnik and maybe even beyond. Travel time will be much shorter but no way will it be as scenic as the winding, sometimes scary coastal road. As you head south from Zadar, you'll pass lots of less-than-pretty coastal development but hold on! It gets better about an hour out of town. Find out more about
